Adult Prom

Well, once again, adult prom {hubby's company party} did not disapoint.

From start to finish, we had a blast!!!

Getting ready for the night is almost as much fun as the event itself...

{Had to share a pic of my pink stockings. Kate made me do it. Couldn't resist the fun colors! :)}

There was awesome food...

A fun band...

And amazing people. {Wish I had more pictures of everyone!!}

I am so thankful for the guys in my husband's small office...and their wives {who are beautiful inside and out}and their children, too!!! We have so much fun with them and have built strong friendships with them over the past few years. They are such a blessing to us.

And, they happen to have mad dance skillz. {Yes, I spelled that with a "z".}

And now, for your viewing pleasure...

Our good friend....

And my husbands business partner...

The man. The legend.

CURLIN...

Ha! He ran the dance floor during the band breaks.

Fun times!

We are already looking forward to next year.

Who's That Baby?!

Do you notice anything different about my sweet Maggadi?

Yep. She miraculously grew pigtails right on top of her head! Overnight!

Just kidding. Maggie was just modeling the headband my friend Elisabeth got her sister's baby as a joke because her sister watches The Duggars.

Don't lie. You've watched the Duggars.

And you liked it.

And you've seen their baby(s) wearing this headband.

And you thought, "What? Does that little baby have enough hair for pigtails?! Oh, wait..."

Well, folks, it's a Bebe Doo.

Oh, the joys of etsy!

Five Things Friday

I failed to download pictures from Thanksgiving weekend before my mother-in-law left town for a shopping trip {my camera is still broken and she has let me borrow hers from time-to-time}. So, on to a totally unrelated Five Things Friday post...

I've been doing some cyber-shopping and have come across some pretty nifty finds.

I'm particularly loving shoes right now. Especially FLAT shoes.

I'm sure having a toddler while pregnant has something to do with that, considering I was practically born in heels.

Whatever the reason for my love of flat shoes, I thought it would be fun to share my top five favorite flat shoes. Of the moment.

{I tend to change my mind a lot. But, then again, I'm a pregnant mother of a toddler and my mind just isn't what it used to be. So there.}
  1. The Hunter Original Gloss Wellie. I know I don't live in Seattle. Nor do I wade through thick mud on a regular basis. But, I love, love, love Hunter Wellies anyway. And I love the gloss finish on these. They are classic, yet girly. And, if you'd like to girly them up even more, Kate Spade has some really cute wellie socks that would compliment them nicely. {Just be sure to let the pink peek out at the top!}
  2. The Ugg Dakota. My feet love Uggs. I could see myself living in these moccasins.
  3. The Tory Burch Grey Flannel Reva Ballerina Flat. These were featured on Oprah's Ultimate Favorite Things and I haven't stopped thinking about them since. I love the color grey. And I love Tory Burch. These shoes are sporty, wintery and pretty all at the same time.
  4. The Frye Celia Over The Knee. Frye knows how to do boots. And I love all of them. In fact, I had a really hard time narrowing it down to just one pair {this pair is the runner-up}. And even though I'm not 100% sure my less-than-lengthy legs could pull these off, I think they would look great with skinny jeans, jeggins or even leggings.
  5. The City Flat. I love a good deal. And lately, a comfy shoe. This pair of shoes appears to be the best of both worlds! They come in a variety of fun colors and fold up for easy travel. Although, the elastic is making me wonder if they will cut off my circulation as I get closer to the end of pregnancy and my feet begin to puff up like marshmallows. Hmmm. They would work for now anyway.
And, just for fun...a pair of velvet slippers. In case you get tired of wearing your Uggs around the house. ;)

Aren't they cute?!

WIWW {@ 10 weeks}

Hi friends!

I've decided to get back in the What I Wore Wednesday action over at The Pleated Poppy.

But, this time with a maternity twist.

Today I'm 10 weeks and 4 days preggers, and feeling pretty darn good {yay!}.

And, because I already have a hint of a baby bump {yes, I'm afraid it's true} I thought today would be a good day to get started.

Here's what I wore to work today:

{And it appears I'm having trouble finding my new center of gravity}

Dress: Banana {4 years old}
I love this dress for many reasons.
A) It was a surprise "happy fall" gift from HH.
B) It's a size 0...
Which I realize must be a labeling mistake
because I am not a size 0...
But, mistake or not, it still makes happy inside
to be wearing a size 0.
And, best of all, HH must have thought I could wear a size 0 since he picked it out. :)
C) It's a great transition piece. Perfect for those 100 degree first days of fall in Memphis.

Here are the details:

Necklace: Off Saks. {A gift from HH from our first beach vacation.}

Earrings: Dazzle {Gift from my mom}

Shoes: Tahari {2 years old}
I LOVE these shoes, but I think they have seen better days.

And here's a look at my 10 week baby bump:

Whoa, baby!

I've always heard that you show sooner with your second pregnancy...but 9 weeks sooner?

Really?!

Maybe I'm growing a football player in there! :)

A Girl After My Own Heart

Last night we stopped by the mall for some post-dinner shopping.

We soon discovered that, like her mommy, DD loves shoes.

Here she is modeling a pair of suede boots.

{Check out the leg rolls!}

She also tried on several different pairs of flats. And a headband. {It went well with the boots.}

She got so excited about trying on shoes that it made her dance.

I can totally relate, sweet girl.

WIWW {Ooops...}

In my last week to participate in What I Wore Wednesday, I failed to take even one picture of a single outfit I wore.

So instead, I give you....

Babies on Chickens!

I know. I'm crazy. But aren't they cute?

At least you can see part of my outfit in this picture {a dress I got at Ann Taylor Loft - for just $25}.

All-in-all, the WIWW experiment has taught me that I can enjoy the clothes that I already have even more if I allow myself a little bit of extra time to change things up with accessories. And, that there are days when it is ok to fall back on that trusty black dress and flip flops {like I did today}.

Lindsey, thanks for letting me join in the fun!

Fall in Love with Fall

Fall is my absolute favorite season. Hands down.

I love football, tailgating, bonfires, pumpkins, the smell of the fall air...I could go on and on.

I also prefer fall fashion. I've been stalking the Internet trying to preview the new fall lines.

And, even though it was 101 degrees outside yesterday, I just can't wait to wear a jacket! And, boots!

Check out Heather's most recent post at Habitually Chic. It features some great shots from the new Hilfiger ad campaign.

We had a car like this when I was little. And, it was usually this full, too.
We called it the Family Truckster.

If you are as tired of hot, sticky weather as I am, these pictures will leave you dreaming of scarfs and hats and football season!

Bring on the fall!

WIWW and Other News...

So, in case you couldn't tell from the lack of resent posts, we've been a bit busy lately.

Just hanging out with family and friends mostly. {My favorite kind of busy.} And, also painting and moving furniture. {My other favorite kind of busy.}

Here's a quick re-cap to catch you up on some recent happenings...

My beautiful {and hilarious} sister-in-law had a birthday earlier this week. Happy b-day, K-ra!

{Yes, she's birthed 4 children and has the body of a model. Don't hate her because she's beautiful.}

Darling Daughter also had a birthday of sorts. She turned 9 months old this past Saturday.

And, she's recently started eating more "grown up" foods. Like non-mashed peas, squash, and chicken nuggets. The girl loves food!

She's also figured out how to use her stroller/walker. Check it out:

How cute is that? She's so proud of herself!

Ok, now time for WIWW. And again, I've failed to take pictures each day. But, I did get two outfits documented. {I blame it on my broken camera. Any suggestions for a new one?}

Outfit 1: work
shirt: Anthropologie {about 4 years old}
skirt: Banana Republic {the one I hadn't worn until this experiment}

Close up of the shirt. I like the birds sewn on the buttons.

shoes: Nine West {a gift from HH}

Outfit 2: work
shirt: Banana Republic {5 years old}
skirt: Brooks Brothers {also 5 years old}

Love me some seersucker!

The amber earrings were a gift from HH. {He has great taste, doesn't he?!}

shoes: Banana Republic

What I Wore Wednesday {Week 2}

This week I tried to pull out some oldies but goodies from the depths of my closet. It was very fun!
