Scarlett, I Do Declare!

I am semi-sad to report that my journalist friend Amanda {which I credit for helping me discover that I am, in fact, a Republican} has decided to join the ranks of the Libertarians.

I say “semi-sad” because I can see where she’s coming from. Let's face it. DC needs a makeover worse than Memphis right now {you never could trust those boys that go by their initials instead of their given name}.

But darn it, the girl looks good in red!

At least we can still agree that Karl Rove is a genius. And, in a strange way, sort of cute.

In other news, I recently re-discovered her blog, Scarlett in the Bell Jar.

Give yourself a treat and subscribe. Amanda is an amazingly talented writer and is down-right, slap-yourself-on-the-knee, sneeze-milk-out-of-your-nose hilarious. I've been trying to get her to write a book about her adventures for years. I hope she does it someday because her readers would be wildly entertained.

Her latest blog post highlights one of the many trips we took together during our non-profit days. I'd like to say that I have pulled it together since the days of having to express mail my purse, which I forgot to bring with me, to my hotel room...but, who am I kidding?
